Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly growing global telecom firm now expanding in Austin, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. You will act as an escalation point for the IT operational team and contribute to internal and external projects on an ad hoc basis. You will work with hardware suppliers, datacenters, partners, and customers to create solutions and solve issues. There is a strong opportunity for professional growth in this role.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deploy system upgrades following best practices to support customers.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of different IT systems distributed over Europe, the Americas and Asia for corporate and production usage.
- Make recommendations for improvements to the current infrastructure and security.
- Analyze systems and integrity to reduce costs and increase capabilities.
- Provide operational support to the servers and databases.
- Troubleshooting on the VoIP systems and backbone.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or closely related technical field of study (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in the IT industry.
- Strong expertise in Linux systems (preferably Debian) and configuration management.
- Strong abilities in scripting languages like Bash, Perl, and others.
- Good knowledge of networking, security and virtualization.
- Detailed knowledge of hardware architecture and database operations.
- Experience with Ansible, Openstack, Bash, Perl, Python, and Debian all highly desired.
- Understanding of VoIP, comfortable with SIP/SS7, and related open source projects is highly desired.
