When I initially began working with various resume posting sites such as Monster, CareerBuilder and LinkedIn I thought their most important feature was the “Post Resume” button. However after entering the world of recruiting, I found that these sites offer much more than a place to find jobs and employees. These sites post articles not only about how to land a job, but also how to keep and get better at a job. I now find myself turning to these sites to find valuable information I can pass on to friends and co-workers who feel stuck in a work rut.
I recently came across an article, “9 Little-Known Ways to Advance your Career” that grasped my attention because no matter what sector you work in these tips can help push you into success! Whether you’re new to the position or a veteran make sure you are speaking-up and putting yourself in a position where you can be noticed for the hard-work you are doing. Participate in meetings, bond with your co-workers, make industry connections and exercise good manners. How you present yourself at work is equally as important as the work you present!
