Responsibilities

Our client, a leader in automotive component testing and certification, is looking for a Lead Mechanical Technician to lead their team in Troy, MI. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with customers and internal employees to develop and improve test procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, data quality checking and data delivery
  • Work with technicians to conduct tests and maintain test cell operation closely following the defined process
  • Configure the test cell automation system for testing, including channel set-up, calibration, programming of test sequences, and set-up of measurement instruments
  • Assist in quality check of all test cell configurations, programming, and test data
  • Evaluate test equipment performance and repair non-conforming components

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Automotive testing lab background
  • Experience in leading assignments with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity
  • Experience using hydraulic, pneumatic, electrodynamic, burner, and environmental systems is a plus
  • Understanding of ISO, SAE, UL, or ETL requirements

Benefits

  • Pay ranges from $46K to $50K annually ($23 to $25 per hour), commensurate with experience
  • Optional participation in benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
  • Contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for extension or direct hire
