Job: Industrial Designer – Manchester

Opportunity

Our Client, a global consumer products packaging company, seeks an Industrial Designer to join their team in Manchester, MI. The selected candidate will design plastic packaging products. They will work with customers to develop new PET containers that meet both aesthetic and performance requirements. Coordinates all project-related activities, from preliminary research and design sketches to 3D Model.

Responsibilities

• Receives limited general direction, work in progress is reviewed routinely. Selects appropriate work procedures or approaches to address technical challenges. Makes own decisions regarding how to approach a work assignment
• Create and work within the IDR system
• Create and track project timelines
• Coordinate design reviews with other project engineers, customers, designers and vendors
• Coordinate corrective design reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in industrial or product design
• 2 to 4 years of experience in product design
• Ability to present to customers
• Experience in package design and/or bottle design is desirable
• Spanish speaking is a plus
• Travel 10%

Benefits

• Pay is up to $70K ($30 to $35 per hour), commensurate with experience
• Optional participation in benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
