Opportunity
One of our clients is looking for a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support their OEM design-in-solutions in Austin, TX area. The candidate should have a strong technical background and show good overall understanding of network system & device level issues. This position will work with our OEM Customers in integrating their Silicon, NIC, and Switching into to their solution portfolio and secure design wins. Responsibilities
– Technical management of accounts
– Participate in the project life cycle including definition, design, software porting, reviews, bring-up, and ongoing support
– Tight collaboration with client engineering on issue resolution
– Preparing and delivering technical training/presentations
– Participate in pre-sales activities
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or higher
– 5+ years’ experience in Network HW/SW Development, Technical Pre-Sales or Advanced Technical Support
– Knowledge of networking protocols, including layers 2, 3, and 4
– Understanding of the Power PC, AIX Kernel & Driver environment
– Knowledge in C and scripting languages (BASH, Perl, and Python)
– Understanding of Linux/Windows/VMware/Solaris internals
– Knowledge and experience in the areas of high-speed board design, signal integrity, EMI and ESD testing
– Familiarity with 10/40 Gb Ethernet and/or Fiber Channel protocols
– Excellent communication & organizational skills
– Knowledge of InfiniBand networking spec and protocol stack
– Knowledge in storage protocols (block, file, FC)
– Knowledge in system architecture & software network stacks
– 20% travel required
