Job: CAD Designer – Farmington Hills

Opportunity

Our client is a leading global provider of wire harnesses, subassemblies, and value-added assembly services to a variety of industries including automotive, HVAC, home appliances, construction and agricultural equipment, and others.  This is a company with locations spanning 15 countries in North America, Europe and Asia. In this role, you will support engineering staff to create and maintain CAD models and drawings in the development of wire harnesses and associated components.

Responsibilities

-Create technical wiring harness drawings, value-added assembly drawings, and component drawings for customer projects using 2D software.

-Responsible for document entry and management within a PLM environment.

-Support activities required to release company products related to new model or engineering change activities.

-Responsible for completing work on time with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications

-Technical diploma / degree or equivalent experience in electrical or wire harness field.

-Good understanding of design and drafting principals, procedures and specifications relating to harnesses, cables and electro-mechanical assemblies.

-CAD related training and experience creating wiring harnesses in applicable 2D software packages.

-Familiarity with VeSys (a Mentor Graphics tool).
