Opportunity
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their team in Southfield, MI. The selected candidate will design, code, test, and deliver insightful and architecturally sound business solutions on high complexity work.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and implement features and code using Java / J2EE and Ajax
- Help end users understand application features to accomplish their business goals
- Document code and projects so others can easily understand
- Apply team coding, documenting and testing standards and recommend process improvements
- Recognize upstream and downstream impacts
- Partner with Database and Middleware Administrators to achieve great application performance
- Demonstrate advanced skills while coaching and mentoring less senior team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study
- 5+ years’ of experience developing multi-tiered web applications using Java / J2EE
- 5+ years’ of experience using web servers, application servers, and RDBMS
- Expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Agile, SCRUM and Feature Driven Development
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Understanding of data modeling concepts
Preferred
- Financial services industry experience
- Experience with Spring, JSF, Angular, Hibernate, JPA, SOA, Rest/SOAP based Web Services, JUNIT, Jenkins, Bitbucket
- Knowledge of Unix scripting and job scheduling
- Knowledge of PL/SQL
- Amazon Web Services
- Ability to convey complex information in a timely and in a way that is easily understood by all levels of the organization
- Demonstrate insight; make recommendations as opportunities arise
Benefits
- Pay is $104K-$114K per year ($52-$57 per hour), commensurate with experience
