Job: PLC Controls Technician – Ferndale

Overview

Our client, a well-established machine tool designer and manufacturer, is looking for a Controls Technician to join their Ferndale location. In this role, the Controls Technician will create/edit programs for the PLC/HMI during the commissioning, installation, interface, and runoff of our client’s industrial automation and machine tools. They will also be responsible for the writing and optimizing of CNC programs for machine shop efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts
• Create and compile necessary documents to aid set up and operation of machines
• Assist CNC operators as needed to work through issues
• Work with Engineering team to gain detailed understanding of in-house procedures

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with RSLogix 500, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC
• 2+ years related experience writing CNC programs in a machining environment
• Willingness to work on shop floor and occasionally get “hands dirty”
• Associates or Bachelor degree is a plus

Benefits

• Pay of $60K to $64K ($30 to $32 per hour) commensurate with experience
